I've had Hamco's rubber impeller pump for yrs. 3/4 hp. Like a pony pump on steroids. Unbelievably fast, not cheap tho. Stock an extra impeller, they do swell and stick if the pump sits a long time.0

How much transferring, how often used?
I've been using the cheapo plug in water pump, male hose fittings on either end. I made up a steel dip tube and use dip tube>washer machine hose> pump> hose to holding tank-about 15gpm.
This last one I've had about 10 years. The one before went about the same. When it starts to leak/fail, just toss it and buy another.
Now if you're pumping all day/every day, then I'd bump up to what Bob mentioned. There was an error rendering this rich post.

This is what we use. 13GPM. Relatively quiet. Works fine for the 4 or 5 tanks we do a year.
