Which zone valve controls which heating zone

in THE MAIN WALL
The short story is I need to determine which of my 2 taco zone valves is controlling my upstairs zone (to add wiring for ecobee3 thermostat that requires a FAST-STAT common maker). I need to connect the common maker to the TACO zone value controlling my upstairs zone but have no idea which is which (1 has 3 wires going into it - the other has several)? Will the wiring tell me??

    Quick and dirty, turn one thermostat all the way down, turn the other one all the way up. See which pipe is getting hotter.
