Insulating the Main and the basement pipe runs ?

I go back and forth with insulating the pipes in the basement. If they aren't insulated , that heat in the basement makes it way through the house, correct? How much of a time difference could it make per cycle if they aren't insulated , 5 minutes ? The whole house seems colder since I insulated them . What are your thoughts?

uninsulated pipes are in fact radiators. Whether you desire the effect of the radiator pipe is up to you.gwgillplumbingandheating.com

My original intent was to cut run time down for the boiler. Now I think I would rather let the heat out down there . Basement is not a living space here. I have to believe that the heat down there makes it way through the floor( which Is much colder now) and helps with the heat slightly on the second floor. Thanks for the reply.0
