Welding repair of a soot vacuum wheel carriage. The chinese welds didn't hold up. Quelle surprise.

    Awesome picture.
    I once sold an engine driven welder to a lady from out of state. She wanted to see a video of it running. I just set up an iPad and recorded about 6" of weld. It came out great and she bought it.

    @Bob Bona Check it out, see what happens when guys actually use their soot vac? :)

    I always figured you for a TIG man. I have a TIG and love it, can't MIG weld to save my life though.

    @Sailah : Haven't done any TIG welding since college. It does make the prettiest welds, though, doesn't it?

    MIG is the hot glue gun of welding ;-) !

    @Gordo

    I was TIG welding some 7/8-14 nuts to 3/4" plate this weekend making a special puller for my cutless bearing on the boat. My TIG is a 185 amp machine and I was asking for all of em!

    It does just weld beautiful though, nice even dimes.

    The shop next to us has a fab area where they weld heavy steel. They have a biggun Miller Deltaweld 650 that is 100% duty cycle. I've used it a couple times, puts hair on your chest.

    Probably won't even need a new filter.
