Another steamer

We ripped out a overly sized cracked steamer and installed a Peerless 63-04L with 3" drop header 2-stage firing set and upgraded the main vents. Replaced about 30' of the wet return. Going back tomorrow to upgrade, balance the radiator vents, skim some more and hit the boiler with wand a few more times.

Looks great! I like your single black pipe "pigtail" trap with the cross cleanouts. I have done them where ever feasible. Do some places require brass pigtails? With the cross plugs clean out is an easy job and will get done more often than trying to deal with the pigtail curls. (the easier it is to do the more it gets done.)
However, what is purpose of the tee with nipple/cap on the bull before the skim port. Perhaps you can see if your steaming on a hot skim?0 -

Thanks @JUGHNE. I haven't come across anywhere that brass pigtails are required. When I'm doing a boiler service and there's a black pigtail I'll swap it out with a brass one. Yes the water trap seal is much easier to service and it's become a standard on all my installs.
The tee and cap on the skim port is to see if I'm making steam and a way to add treatment just **** @Fred mentioned2 -

Is that a bottle of steam aster on the new boiler? Do you have them use it now, or tell them to wait a year? Looks great btw!0

@steamhouse yes that is a bottle of Steamaster tablets, I use them after I've skimmed and washed out the inside of the boiler with wand. (Thank you Gerry Gill).
