@RI_SteamWorks, That's two separate controls headers? With just an up & over & down to trap them, no piggy tail? Nice. Do you find you have to prime it with water, or does it fill up find by itself?0

Thank you. Yes, two separate, and it primes itself.ratio said:@RI_SteamWorks, That's two separate controls headers? With just an up & over & down to trap them, no piggy tail? Nice. Do you find you have to prime it with water, or does it fill up find by itself?

@RI_SteamWorks Beautiful install as always0

Agreed. But why the float-type LWCO? The 80 series is tapped for probes.......EzzyT said:@RI_SteamWorks Beautiful install as always

Ha. You'd laugh if you knew the whole story, but the short version is it ships with 2 of them...Steamhead said:Agreed. But why the float-type LWCO? The 80 series is tapped for probes.......

On a gravity-return job, we usually return those for credit, and install the primary probe LWCO in tapping F2 (lower try-cock tapping) and the secondary in tapping P (secondary level control tapping). These are all 1" and can be bushed down as needed. F2 is rather close to the sight glass but a McDonnell & Miller PS-800-series LWCO will fit.
I tried to capture just the tapping page but couldn't. The manual is here:
http://www.weil-mclain.com/sites/default/files/field-file/80-manual_1.pdf
And here are some pics showing how they fit:

Unfortunately, many people don't blow down float-type LWCOs, so we've gone to probes everywhere we can. The most recent boiler replacement we posted was a dry-fire from a stuck float-type LWCO.All Steamed Up, Inc.
