Turned out thermostat on for the winter and the only thing the boiler does is make this clicking sound. There is no pilot light and it's a model that's supposed to be an automatic light. Any ideas what it might be and might anyone have the manual?

One of the safety switches is probably open, the manual should tell you where the safeties are. Make sure the vent damper opens fully, if it doesn't that safety won't close

The clicking sound is probably the igniter sparking while attempting to light the pilot.
Is the gas cock open at the boiler? If so, it could be a dirty pilot orifice.Bob Boan
You can choose to do what you want, but you cannot choose the consequences.0
