Hydrolevel 450 Probe

I just replaced the EL1214 probe on my Weil McLain 85k boiler. I used only a spit of dope on the brass threads of the probe-no Teflon tape. I've got full meter deflection on conductivity between the probe' s 1 1/8" fitting and the boiler.
No matter how much water is in the boiler, the Amber low water light on the 450 stays lit and the LWC continues to ask the autofill for water.
What am I missing?
Thanks, fellows.

Maybe the probe wasn't bad in the first place.
Single pipe 392sqft system with an EG-40 rated for 325sqft and it's silent and balanced at all times.

Just FYI, I had to replace the EL-1214 probe on my lwco last year, it was fouled with a layer of minerals over 1/4" thick before it failed to sense the water in the boiler. It doesn't sound like the probe is the problem to me either.0

I've emailed to Hydrolevel, too. Someone must have run into this situation in the past. You guys probably right: not the probe.0
