a few jobs that i lost.....this is one customer with a few properties that i maintain and provide service too....i replaced one steam boiler for this customer a few years back....really nice install but the customer said my prices are too high....this is what he gets and i have to maintain this......on the hot water job i dont what this guy was trying to do....and the weil mclain steam boiler job has water hammer like crazy since the install the tenants tell me.

    Boy, those installs look like they were nice and cheap!

    Too bad you got stuck maintaining them, but as least you've got steady income. :wink:

    i dont mind maintaining them ill charge accordingly....i performed a combustion analysis on all of them....one had high CO around 500PPm....gas pressure was off....and the williamson steamer when i started it up the horizontal unions were leaking....i tightened them but itll happen again

    I'd hazard a guess and say yes. I don't understand it myself. If you can't afford something, it means that you...can't...afford...it...

    Don't know why people think that what they can afford will be exactly what they can't afford.

    The odd thing is, judging from these pictures, paying for what they "can afford" probably cost them about as much as it would have cost them to pay for what they "can't afford" ???

    You aren't charging him enough to maintain them. That's why you are maintaining them and not the cheap guy who installed them. ;)

    Raise your maintenance rate 10% every time the guy calls you and don't forget to include the travel time. You need to get back the money you lost estimating those jobs.
