steam boiler drop header

New 75k 196 sq ft steam boiler installed today 10 hour day...vxt-24 auto feeder...vaporstat....4 Gorton #2's....3 inch drop header...2 1/2 supply valve....still have to go back to skim boiler etc.

Piping looks good, but where's your drip leg on that gas line?

Yes...i would love too...but i can't find any in supply houses....yes i have to extend drip leg....i guess my partner installed cap on close nipple

Yes gorton 2 main vents....union steam is made by weil mclain....or williamson....i couldnt find a supplier with a 75 k steam boiler in stock.....until i found the supplier with this boiler....most said its too small to carry...this was a emergency job they needed the heat

Nice job. FYI, Williamson does not allow the return to be connected to the right side of the boiler. They want the return to be on the same side as the controls. Personally, I don't think that makes any sense. I also think that they do not allow you to use the right hand supply tapping. Same reason. Don't mean to criticize at all . I use the right and left hand tapping all the time. Just thought that you might want to know

My EG-40 is plumbed the same way as your boiler, with the return in the rear, as I call it, opposite of the gauge glass and I'm using both supplies.

A great example that the NBP is part of the steam boiler!
I would almost envision more volume in the piping than the steam chest of the boiler.

No parallel flow with gravity return with dry returns ....i guess they dripped the beginning of the main because its kinda back pitched...really dont know why it was done
