flame rectification

Hello to all,
I want to better understand how flame rectification works. I have read a decent amount about it and what I need clarification about is the actual path that the current takes. I know the module sends an AC voltage to the flame sensor, and that the flame acts as a path for the current, and that it is "rectified" to DC amp, but I'm not clear what the complete circuit is. Does it go back to the module, does is go right out through ground? I understand that grounding is very important, and is part of the circuit, but don't understand fully. I feel I could better troubleshoot if I understood these things properly.
Thanks, Mike.

Do a search on the wall for that, there has been several discussions about it. Look for one with Tim's name attached.
