i just replaced my l8148j aquastat. everything is running fine but the burner wont shut off. were did i go wrong

    Then it's not running fine. Either the new control is bad, or it's wired wrong.
    Here's a wiring diagram. Look for the 8148J and see how it matches up.
    Note the part in the notes about jumper selection.

    How did you determine you needed to replace it. Maybe something shorted it out, and now the same short is affecting your new one

    Do you have a 24 volt gas valve or a powerpile self generating valve?

    If you have a 24 volt valve wire valve to B1 and B3 and insert jumper between TP and Z.

    If you have a powerpile valve wire B1 and B2 to powerpile valve and no jumper between TP and Z.

    Give us the number of the gas valve and the make?
