SpiroVent Vent

A quick question for the hydronic brain trust: could the 1/2" vent connection on a SpiroVent be connected to one side of an open compression tank as long as the other side of the tank is connected back to the system? Would it be functional at putting air into the tank?

It should work if the vent pipe connects to the top of the compression tank (above the water line) and there is not a big pressure differential between the Spiro vent and the other compression tank connection. The Spiro vent should be first inline, then the other compression tank connection and then the inlet of the pump.0
