in THE MAIN WALL
Installed repair kit pv001rp now it won't stop leaking thru air vent unless I screw cap down

    You've obviously done something wrong. Take it back apart and carefully follow the instructions.

    I have taken apart several times ther is only a float inside that is supposed to stop the water when it is pushed up. I have replaced this three times in ten years never had this issue

    I'm familiar with the device and have installed dozens of them. I've also replaced the guts on a few. Get a diagram of all the parts and take yours apart and carefully compare it. I'm sure you'll discover something is not quite the same.
