contractor in Northern NJ for converting steam radiators

Hi folks,
I have 5 steam cast iron radiators in our lovely home that I need converted for hot water. Basically I need 1) air bleeders tapped, 2) old steam valves replaced with HW valves, and 3) the large nut sawed out for use as a return.

Can anyone recommend someone in the North Jersey who has experience with this? I don't know where to start. Thanks!

Do these radiators have connections across the top? If they don't they can't be converted. Only certain ones can be converted. Post a picture and we can tell you. Have you tried the find a contractor link?

Hi KC Jones, thanks for the reply.
Yes, they're connected across the top and even have a bleeder plug (which needs to be tapped because it's probably welded closed at this point). They're in very good shape.

The contractor link returns results for NYC and brooklyn. The closest NJ contractors are in central NJ. I called them and they won't service my area.

Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks!

Try @JStar, Thatcher Plumbing and Heating. They are an excellent company and will do right by you.

Thanks Rob! Jstar was actually the first person I called, even before posting my first message. I'm sorry to report that as of August 2015, Thatcher is no longer in business. :/ Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Sorry, I knew JStar was looking to retire but did not know he had already done so. Have you tried Langan's plumbing and heating? Rich and john are very knowledgeable with hot water heat.
