in Oil Heating
I have a weil-Mclain model WGO-4 gold series oil fired furnace that hasn't been fired up in 2 years i attempted to fire it up it ran for a couple of seconds and shut down and red light came on, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your best bet is to get a good oil burner technician in there to clean it and adjust it. It is possible that the nozzle is usable after sitting two years -- but I rather doubt it. The chances are that the red light coming on is either no ignition or the cad cell or other flame safety can't see the ignition -- either way, this is a job for a qualified tech.Br. Jamie, osb

2 seconds is shorter than the 15 second safety timing. I would have it looked at. Could be a dozen possibilities. Did it actually fire off as in flame present?0

Why hasn't it been run in 2 years?0
