Cool John. Were those DWV fittings on the old boiler? Thanks for sharing. Would love to see one of these time lapses on Ron Poniatowski's (Ron Junior) jobs. Good job.

  • These time lapse videos could probably improve the performance of the people doing the work.
For instance, where is the best place to put that bucket so it is not in the way?
Will you be filming all jobs in the future?
Customers can see how much work goes into these jobs, and therefore where their money is going.--NBC

This is my first foray into the world of Boiler Installation Filmmaking, but I figure The Academy is bound to take notice in 2015.

Yes, Mark, those were DWV fittings. We see that a lot in the areas in which we work in NJ. Not sure why.

I really think putting a music score to the video would be a nice touch John!

I counted 42 different people on that job. That was quite a crew. I particularly related to the guy who, towards the end walks in from the left with his hands in his pockets. Nice job!

Hahaha. Yes, we've got the two main installers, a removal company I sometimes use, myself and my brother in this video.

Hatterasguy, I like the 3-pc pumps on low head conversion jobs like this.
It's just a personal preference based on years of reading about other peoples' success stories converting gravity to forced circulation. I've tend to go that route but did consider the Taco 0010, which might also have worked nicely.
The Series 100 has a wider volute though.

    All good.

There is a bypass on the primary loop. See it? Just before the tees into the secondary.

Awesome video. I'm sure a few of these will be a very promotional addition to an already awesome web site.

  • I thought I saw a tub of NoKorode paste flux with the acid brush stuck through a hole in the top of the container. That's exactly my style as well, but I've been reprimanded.

    8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour

Two btu per sq ft for degree difference for a slab

I don't cut a hole, I use a razor knife and cut an X in the lid. It removes any excess flux off the brush as you remove it from the tub.
