Indirect w/ gas water heater as storage/backup

Anyway of utilizing an indirect water heater for domestic hot water production, with a natural gas water heater being used as a storage tank and back up when power outage may occur?
Any links for piping diagram would be great.
Thanks

Sure. Simply pipe the gas heater in series, downstream of the indirect. Leave it's thermostat turned down somewhat lower than the indirect's until you need it to fire.
If you're on well water, well, you won't have any water when the power goes off. But you realized that, I'm sure.
