The king valves were actually requested!!! I said no problem most people won't spring for em, but your boiler will love them.Hatterasguy said:Deja vu all over again!!

Just out of curiosity how long does it take to install a boiler with drop header and all new pipping. All my jobs around here want me to install and remove in one day. That's something that I can't do. With all that piping.

It's very difficult to do a proper steam boiler installation in one day. Far better to provide some temporary oil-filled-radiator-type space heaters to get them thru the night.
Around here, the ones who do it in a day always have issues. Fixing the issues always takes at least part of a day. So if it's going to take that much time, best to do it right in the first place. All Steamed Up, Inc.

Dave, love the pics! Question: why are king valves installed on the mains, what is the advantage? Thanks.Dave0176 said:I bought gate valves from supplyhouse.com, great prices there.

Great looking header, you should have good dry steam because of that.
I'm glad to see you believe in training your helpers young, it's easier if they don't have to unlearn bad habits.
Looking forward to seeing pics of the completed install.

Makes it simple to build 10 psi steam pressure to blow down the boiler. You close both those valves plus the one in the return and the boiler is isolated from the system.JudySweetland said:
