Cracked condensate trap - GB 142-60

Have a Boderus GB 142-60. I discovered that the condensate trap was cracked at its connection point and leaking gas. Don't know for how long except that I realized that heat was not working well for the last 12 hours. This same condensate trap was installed new just 1.5 years prior. Should the condensate trap part last longer and why would it be cracking.
