Boiler replacement gas heat hot water radiator

Have a 1987 Weil McClain boiler, which is working fine but broken gauge and doesn't have proper shut offs so am thinking of replacing it. Read that current Weil's are not as good. Looking for boiler recommendations.

Uhm... you are going to replace a boiler just because the gauge doesn't work and it's missing a shutoff? If the boiler is fine, wouldn't it make more sense to just fix those two things?

Current Weils are fine. I have had no problems with them if they are properly maintained.

Some more info would be helpful. Such as:
    1. What size is your present boiler?
    2. Has an accurate heat loss calc been done on the house?
    3. If so, what are the results?
    4. Does your present system heat properly now?
    5. How high in efficiency are you looking to go? 80%? 95%?
    6. Though we don't discuss pricing, what does your budget allow?
    7. What's your present EDR? This is the square footage of cast iron radiators which determines their output.

Please understand that choosing the right contractor is far more important than the brand of boiler.
