Boiler sizing question

Got to thinking, the last replacement I did I'm wondering if I sized that boiler correctly? I know the job is long complete now but I'm just wondering.
I measured total EDR at 313 all basement piping is still pretty much covered in asbestos, so currently only the header isn't covered and he don't want me to cover it to keep the basement warm. Also there is a hot water loop that adds about 9000 BTU.
I installed a Weil McLain EG40 that comes in at 125000 BTU and 325 sq ft. It's the net IBR ratings that are worrying me, problem is the EG45 is rated at 150000 and 392 sq ft steam, seems to me that would be oversized??

That sounds about right, but next time insulate the header. A bare header is a pretty expensive way to heat a basement. The purpose of the header is to provide dry steam. Extra condensation is the last thing you need.Just another DIYer | King of Prussia, PA

Thanks, I tried explaining that, but to no avail. Next time if won't ask I'll add it in the cost and do it.Hap_Hazzard said:That sounds about right, but next time insulate the header.
