Hey all it's been while, was busy with A/C jobs most of the summer, but as winter closes in the boiler jobs are starting.

Got question, going to install a Weil EG40, question is riser sizing? I figure two 3" risers knock velocity down to about 8, two 2 1/2 risers are around 13.5 fpm. What would be the better, also the mains are split, one side feeds most of the house and pipped with 2 1/2, the other is 2" I'll also be building a 3" drop header.
The original install had a bull head tee splitting the two mains with a bushing to knock down to 2". I figure what I'll be doing will worlds better.
Funny thing is the boiler I'm replacing is an 11 year old Utica and it rotted out above the water line, last contractor ran a single 2" copper riser and header smh lol.

My charts call for 2@ 2" risers or 1@ 3" riser into a 3" header.

I'm starting to think that copper piping was a way to secure future work for these knuckleheads. What? They're not being called back to do more work. Oh, what a shame...
