No hot water after pilot out on boiler

Hello,

We noticed last night that there was no hot water for showers. I looked at the boiler and noticed the pilot was out. I it is lit now and several hours later there is still no hot water. I have tried turning the thermostat on the hot water tank up to see if it would kick the boiler on, but no. When I turned the heat on (forced hot water baseboard) the boiler kicked on. Any help is appreciated

    Information

Is it a zone valve system, or circulators? In other words, circs for each zone, or one circ and zone valves for each zone?

Maybe an end switch on the zone valve is not being made. Look at the power head on the zone valve. There is probably a manual bypass on the powerhead.

    WAG

    I would second the WAG.

If it a Honeywell valve the manual lever will not trip it.

You are going to have to post pictures and a more complete description to get better assistance.
