We are installing a Lennox A/C system comprised of a 5 ton XC25 Outdoor Unit, a CBX32MV air handler, and an iComfort Wi-Fi thermostat in a home.  The home has hot water baseboard heating.

The homeowner wants to have the Lennox iComfort stat control BOTH the A/C system and in winter, the boiler.  We've been told that there is no way the iComfort can control the boiler, and the house will have to rely on the "old" stat for boiler operation.

Is there a way around that?  Even if additional relays or something else is needed, that would be acceptable, rather than having two stats.

    Tough one...

The t-stat's connection to the air handler is though a communicating signal as is the air handler's connection to the heat pump. You won't be able to use those signals without a manufactures device or an advanced degree in controls.

You may be able to set a relay at the heat pump but it would require a wiring diagram, some brain damage and would likely  void the warantee.
