Hoffman Loop Incorrect?

Our Peerless Series 61 steam boiler was installed in September 1998, in a oil-to-gas conversion.  While digging through old files, I came across this note from another plumber who examined the boiler in November 1998:

"The Hoffman loop is incorrect.  The feed for header should be feed [sic.] from other tapping of Boiler (Top Right 2") because the return is on the left of the boiler."

My father had asked this plumber for a post-installation assessment.  My father can't remember if the issue was resolved.  The boiler has been in use these last 15+ years.  I've posted pictures.  Does it look like the Hoffman loop is installed incorrectly?

Note: the picture showing the front of the boiler is an old one.  The pigtail has since been changed to brass.  Scroll to the end of (<a href="http://www.heatinghelp.com/forum-thread/150421/Questions-regarding-the-main-vent-and-auto-water-feeder-that-cuts-off-the-boiler-every-10-minutes/success">http://www.heatinghelp.com/forum-thread/150421/Questions-regarding-the-main-vent-and-auto-water-feeder-that-cuts-off-the-boiler-every-10-minutes/success</a>)

Thank you very much!

    Hoffman loop?

I honestly don't see a Hoffman [Differential] loop in the pictures... I do see a Hartford loop which is slightly idiosyncratic, but not in itself that bad...  although the horizontal bit of header could be a good bit higher without hurting anything.
