Thermo couples

in Gas Heating
I have a utica gas hot water boiler, model #M75AGB, serial # BB04404. What could cause the thermo couple to not work? I had to replace it three times since december. Any help would be great. Tom

is this a standing pilot boiler or spark ignition?

It is a standing pilot boiler>
or thermocouple too deep into the flame because something got bent can cause issues. are you sure it is the thermocouple that is the problem?

Yes because i try to clean it will not light, i change it all is fine for a few months , then it will not light.
I seriously doubt that you encountered that many bad t'couples. You need a Millivolt meter to test how much electricity( volts ) is being produced by the pilot flame.
Thanks everyone for the help. Tom
a thermo pile, right?

It is a thermo couples.
a multi-meter that will measure millivolts? If so then go up and click resources, then library and look for Tims closet there is a procedure for checking thermocouples there.
Tim thank you for the info. Tom
Utica boiler has a tendency to burn up thermocouples especially when it is cold and the boiler is running a lot. There is a thermocouple from Johnson (now Baso Gas Controls LLC) it is the K16LRA nickel plated corrosion resistant and hi-temp thermocouple. It is a little more expensive but it will out last most T'couples 3 to 1.
Tim , thank you.
If the chimney is not venting properly, it can spill CO2, which displaces O2 causing pilots to snuff out.
