I <a href="http://blog.jacksonsystems.com/two-pipe-return-systems-direct-vs-reverse/">read online</a> and some says the balancing valves are needed for two pipes system, even for reverse return setting.
Do you real use them in reverse return? how do I know if I need them? where should I install them?

Balancing valves
Are useful no matter what the piping topology. In a properly configured reverse return design (which includes properly sized emitters) they will need less adjustment, and can usually be specified as simple balancing valves rather than the (more expensive and complex) pressure compensated type.0
