Is this a White -Rogers? Does anyone know the wiring scheme, it is in an apartment with shared 24V. Client thinks this unit is under control from another unit, I'm 99% sure thats not the case. The thing is running open wild on its own.

    You're welcome.

    You're welcome.

How about posting some more information on what it is and what it is doing?

It does look like some sort of a zone valve but I've never seen one like it. Judging by the smushed fin tube in the background and the valve handle, it must be a zone valve. More information would be helpful.

    White-Rogers

I can't tell if it's a W-R or not, but I have a copy of the installation instructions and wiring diagram of the Type 1311 zone valve.  If you want a copy, send me your email address.

Edit: It turns out to be available online here:

    Follow the terminals

Two of them go to the motor. Two others to the end switch, and one is a blank terminal for splicing.

    here is the diagram

Scroll to the middle of the page amd you will see wire diagram from 2 wire and 3 wire valve. Yours looks as if the top two wires go to the motor and the bottom are your 24v through your switch or thermostat.

Flair zone valves are power open, power closed so maybe that third terminal is needed for the alternate operation.

    Thanks guys

Never even heard of Flair zone valves, I just assumed it was a WR. The end switches are not in use for anything. There's a bank of transformers at the boiler for all the ZV's and Tstats, but the boiler itself just runs on setpoint with an outside air cutoff switch only. Tha's the part I can never understand with these type of zv's in apartments. Why didn't they just just split the 24V circuit through the stat and call it good?
