Wood-oil-coal boiler ?

We have a customer who wants a wood oil coal boiler. I have been searching a little and not finding much. Not going to name names , but I was told by a manufacturers rep. that the product could not be sold in Connecticut because of new "wood smoke laws" . Not sure of exact wording but that is the idea.

Has any one ever heard of this new law? or where I could read it myself?

    Here's one source, Bill

    and another...

Also, a number of Towns have zoning regulations which may apply.

    Wood/coal - oil

There are units that you can install inside the house that the law won't apply.

Your homeowners insurance will be higher ( make sure You tell them )

They work pretty good on wood and coal but not very efficient on oil so use it for backup only.

    I installed one

about 10 years ago I installed one with a large hot water storage tank. you would fire it up with wood and heat the tank and then run the water through radiant floor coils to heat the home. backup was with oil . last time I talked to him it was working well.heater was made by H.S.Tarm
