Location of pigtail relative to boiler water lune

My pigtail is presently located so that 1/2 the loop is at the mid sight glass waterline. Can the pigtail be moved to above the top of the sight glass?

it should be measuring steam, not water, anyway.
That is, sure -- if you have a handy dandy tapping to hook it into. Otherwise it could be difficult...Br. Jamie, osb

It wouldn't be a bad idea if you can find a convenient tapping. I have mine connected to branches off of the upper gaugecock tapping, so they are completely above the water line.
Since they're high and dry, you need to manually fill the traps with water.Just another DIYer | King of Prussia, PA
