    Preference

It doesnt hurt anything, its just a personal preference. I sleep at 60 degrees and it comes up a little through out the day.

    Better question

How many pairs of long johns?

I was on a mountaintop microwave site for a year in Korea while in the army, butt chilling cold and windy. No road access, had to use a mountain path to get to base camp where the generators lived. EVERYBODY bought long johns at PX or had them sent from home. I wore a knockoff flight jacket that had military insignia sown on - a lot warmer than a field jacket. I got called on that once by a new XO but the CO sent him packing when he came blazing out of his office - the CO knew it was best not to screw with the guys that had to keep the gear on line all the time.

Despite it all it was the best duty in Korea - the nearest officer was 26 miles away from us.

    Comfortable

Keep the thermostat set to whatever temp you are comfortable at. How are we to know what that setting is? If you're cold turn it up.

    We keep ours

at 59 nights, 62 breakfast, 63 day and 64 evening.

It's all in what you can and want to be comfortable at (if it's your own house -- note that if you are a landlord and are talking about a rental unit, you may have code issues to consider).

Weezbo's numbers are why I've never considered Alaska (or the Yukon, or most of the prairie provinces, for that matter) suitable places for human habitation...
