1 1/4 Radiator Valve to 1" spud

I have a 1 1/4 radiator valve connected to matching spud. The radiator is leaking, and I have another spare radiator which looks like it has a 1" spud.
Dumb question, how can I get the full size rad valve to connect to this smaller spud.
Thank you.

Far as I recall
the stud and the valve are matched... I suppose if you had enough length you could cobble something, but it would be a kludge.Br. Jamie, osb

CI Radiators:
With most cast iron radiators I have ever seen, they are a minimum of 1 1/4" NPT on the bottom. If you have a 1" Union-Ell, a bushing is used to gat the 1" male part of the union with the union nut on it. You need to get the bushing out of the newer replacement radiator.
There may be other issues or things that you haven't mentioned.0 -
most radiators might be 1 1/4 npt
but the spare radiator i had was 1".
i used a 1 1/4 x 1 reducer to solve the issue, not the prettiest, but saved me from buying another radiator.
thank you all.0
