This morning our furnace when it kicked on made a really loud noise.

So I shut it off for a couple min. Turned back on was still loud

But not as loud as before. So again I turned off waited

A while turned back on, no more sound but is now blowing

cold! Please help and hoping it's something my husband can

Fix!

    Gonna need...

A lot more info. Make and model, natural or LP gas, standing pilot, direct spark or hot surface ignition? How is it vented? How old is it?

Then, there will be a lot more questions as to what suspected components are or are not doing.

Is there an electronic board that's flashing a code?

Posting a pic of it would answer some questions, but if it's a control or gas issue, that requires specialized tools and expertise that your husband probably won't have.

We'll try to help if it's something simple, but beyond that you'll need a technician. A gas burner and its controls are not something that a DIYer should attempt to repair.
