Replaced the old American Standard

After the job on Friday, this weekend I had to help my helper replace his 80 yo American Standard oil fired steam boiler. The boiler ran quite well but it was oil, had no equalizer and was just inefficient. So I sized a Williamson (Weil McLain) GSA 125 for him. The hardest part was removing that old boiler because it was enormous. I took you guys advice and ran two 2" risers outta the boiler into a 3" drop header into a 2" equalizer. All went well, the boiler runs great, however he needs to put back a few radiators that were pulled because we sized the new boiler up based on those rads. Have to get the fully complete pics
Also a friend who has been in the heating business for 45 years wanted to take a look at my job, so he came over, and the first thing he says is, this piping is not necessary, you guys wasted money and time for nothing. (Huh)!!!!!!

Jealousy makes people say stupid things. Then again, being bad at your job can make you say stupid things, too! The only money wasted is by that guy's customers. They should hire you instead.

That's my helper and looong time friend Bert, it's his house so we were a bit more relaxed doing this job and took our time. His wife almost had a heart attack at first sight of the basement, but it cleaned up well. Unfortunately soot went everywere when took the old boiler apart.
I do have Dans book and yes I'm aware, but that's were the originals were, so I left them instead of disturbing more 80 YO pipe.DL Mechanical LLC Heating, Cooling and Plumbing 732-266-5386
