Hey everyone when doing a radiant job (staple up) and performing a heat loss calculation do I use a standard heat loss calculator like slant fins heat loss express or is there a calculation specifically for radiant thank you Paul S

    Radiant heat loss

    I'd be using a program that's specifically designed for radiant applications like the Uponor ADS or Viega's software. Both will allow "what if's" that show design temps and flow rates for a suspended application with plates or without. Then you can see the difference and design accordingly. The S/F program uses the Manual J calcs. Radiant values are lower and using the S/F program for other than baseboard or radiators will tend to oversize the system.
