Is this asbestos?

I removed an old smith-miller oil fired boiler the other day and am afraid to throw out the bags. The insulation in the jacket was not asbestos rather normal fiberglass type of today's boilers. However. the fire chamber was made of a white fireproof board similar to combustion chamber material of today's boilers and the whole chamber was surrounded by this white fluffy material. It filled about 8 inches wide and six inches high all around the base of the boiler and the cast iron sections sat on top of this base. Does anyone know if this is asbestos.

Without having it analysed
by a laboratory equipped to do that, you can't positively tell one way or the other. It may be cheaper to assume that it is, and deal with it.Br. Jamie, osb
