Pex for natural gas?

I've seen some articles about using pex for natural gas lines, especially buried underground. If so, can you use standard non barrier pex, or does it have to be rated and colored differently?
Thanks,
Matt

Been using yellow plastic
for direct burial for natural gas and propane generators . We use these long sweep transition ells to come out of the ground . I think they're painted galvanized and have IP threads on one end and either a compression fitting or shark bite type fitting on the other end for the yellow pipe . Passes all codes where we work on Long Island .0 -
Yellow Plastic
Is HDPE. Fantastic stuff underground, but not approved for use above ground.0 -

PEX for gas.
There is a huge difference in HDPE and PEX when it comes to chemical composition. I have been using HDPE underground for years, but I am not brave enough to try PEX for gas.
Good luck to those that do.0 -
Yellow pex-Al-pex?
It looks like pex-Al-pex in yellow. The compression fittings look the same. Anyone on here used this?
Tim, are you familiar with this product?Bob Boan
You can choose to do what you want, but you cannot choose the consequences.0 -
