Direct venting steam boiler?

We have bought a house with steam heat and a chimney in need of repair. Is there such a thing as a steam boiler that can be vented through the wall and save us the cost of repairing the chimney?

    Power Vent

You can also set up a separate power venter made by Tjerlund or Field Controls. It can be used on any boiler.

    Great info guys, thanks!

If either route works out I will save $6000 in chimney repair, which I'd much rather put into new equipment. Thank you!

    Cost

The cost comparison will not be very fair until you know what size boiler you need, and what boilers are able to be power vented. You might find that the chimney rebuild is not so crazy of an option.

What repairs need to be done?

    So true, Joe

...which is why I said "if"! But I'll give it a shot.

I have used Tjerlund in the past,  they make a great product with excellent factory support
