How much baseboard per room.

I am renovating all three bedrooms. I want to know the formula to calculate how many BTU's are required to heat each room. How many liner ft of baseboard per room. Each room is getting new insulation, new windows (they will be bigger due to egress regulations, and new exterior, foam backed vinyl siding.

That Would Require
You to do a heat loss..

Once you get that you need to pull the technical literature for the brand of baseboard you plan on installing and divide the heat loss of the room by the btu/hr per ft output of the board at the water temperature and flow rate you need to get your needed lengths. To calculate flow rate the formula is:
gpm = btu/hr / (Delta-t x 500)
Delta-t is the difference between the zones supply and return water temperatures. Example, a typical baseboard system uses a 20 degree delta-t, 180 supply, 160 return.There was an error rendering this rich post.

Heat loss
Step one- Do a heat loss calc. There are good free calculators on line.
Step two- Determine your boiler design temp. Conventional boilers will usually be around 170. With condensing boilers, the lower the better (max. 140).
Step 3-Look at the output chart from the heater manufacture and pick the size that matches your design temp and heat loss calc.

Good advice
What Chris & Carl said . Do the heat loss . Nothing to add .You didn't get what you didn't pay for and it will never be what you thought it would .
