Packaged Rooftop versus Hydronic Costs

In my market place (Pittsburgh,PA), it seems that packaged rooftop units are the only thing being installed. A new building with hydronics would probably cause the Mason Dixon line to split. I would like to see if anyone has seen a study that shows the operating cost comparison of a packaged rooftop unit and a hydronic system. Thanks in advance.

Something to think about
a rooftop unit is located outside the building envelope, so it loses a lot more of the heat it generates than a hydronic system does. All Steamed Up, Inc.

unitary rooftop oversold
Unitary rooftops are the most oversold system. Everything to be serviced is in one package out there. And a packaged unit is cheaper to install than built up.
Of course a roof lasts longer if nobody is on it dropping their tools.0 -
roof damage
the worst thing about rooftop units are the cabinet screws which never get put back in, and lie on the roof waiting for a step to push them ithrough the roof membrane!--nbc0
