Removal and Cap of Steam Radiator

Good Morning,



My name is Eric and I am brand new here. My wife and I live in a 110 year old home in MA. We have one steam radiator (one pipe style) that we want to remove. I can disconnect it, but don't know how/what to cap the pipe from the boiler with.



Any suggestions?

You need to remove the valve

and cap the pipe with the corresponding size of an iron pipe cap. Why do you want to remove the radiator?

why remove a good radiator?

if the radiator is overheating/noisy, then the system can be restored to proper balance, following some advice from here.

naturally, the removal of the radiator will affect the rest of the system, sometimes adversely.--nbc
