Unfamiliar with this setup

I inspected a home this morning with an unusual boiler setup. The oil unit was converted to gas but still uses a barometric damper instead of a draft hood. Is this O.K. ?

Question two. Someone tied the new boiler into an old boiler and is using them in tandem. Any thoughts.

    The Barometeric...

should have been changed out to a double acting type. I just did this this morning. A Field MG-1 and a spill switch.

    presume powered burner

kcopp is correct. I don't understand why hoods are mandatory on atmospheric.

    furthermore....

you can't have a draft hood on a converted set up. The boiler w/ a conversion burner is not an atmospheric boiler....by all rights it is a fan assisted set up.
