Short Cycling Help

My gas furnace turns on for ten seconds, then shuts off -- at all hours of the day and night. I called the landlord and they sent a guy out to replace the thermostat, but it still happens! Weird thing is, my new thermostat has an off switch that locks the magnet thingy away from the level thingy. It still short cycles in the "locked off" position. I have also set the heat anticipator to the longest setting. Do I have a ghost? It has turned on three times since I started writing this post!

tell him to check the limit switch in the furnace, and also check the filter for blockage--nbc0 -
The thermostat it's not...
But there are several controls on the furnace itself which could be doing it. As NBC says, the limit switch is the most obvious culprit.Br. Jamie, osb

What is running
The indoor blower or the gas burners or both.0
