Does anyone have the ratings for BTU output for insulated 3" steel pipe? Thank you

R Value?
That would depend on the R value of the insulation, the average water temp and the ambient temp..Bob Boan

Steam heating(212-215). 1" fiberglass insulation. unheated basement so lets assume about 55 degrees.0 -
Just figure it as heat loss
Area is d (in feet) * 3.14 * L (in feet), u-value is what it is (depends on the insulation) and temp difference is 160 F. With R-3, roughly 40 BTU/hr-ft. One man's heat gain is another man's heat loss. :-)0
