GB142 Question

Hello All,

I just had a service call on a GB142/24, it was a 2F code which is switch related.

The boiler had 10PSI, I raised the pressure system turned on, ran though a couple of cycles working fine.

Looking though the manual for guidance I noticed it could have been a safety switch problem. My question is what is the safety switch and what does it do? It is not pressure or hi or low temps.

Thanks,

    Pressure or Flow

2F code is a flow or pressure issue. Boiler psi must be 15psi min. on boiler display. If that's okay, then look for a flow problem through the boiler.

You can choose to do what you want, but you cannot choose the consequences.

    Ironman,

Thanks for the reply, it was a pressure problem. I was just wondering what that safety switch is for, its not a limit or pressure. What safety feature does it do?

    thanks

    Safety Sensor

The 2F issue is generally flow related. and 2E is a pressure issue.

The safety sensor you are referring to is essentially a high limit sensor.  It is monitoring water temperature in the heat exchanger.  It will shut the boiler down if the water temperature is too high, if the water temp rises to fast, etc.
