    In August, 1996, when we took Kelly to orientation at N.D., Lou Holtz personally guaranteed me a national championship "In the four years your child will be here." He was gone before the year was out; Kelly spent the following 10 years there, waiting.



    She got my grandson, Sully, all dressed up and worked up last night, and now he's as miserable as the rest of us.
