HIGH HEAD CIRCULATOR

I'M IN NEED OF A PUMP FOR A AIR TO WATER CHILLER. MY NEEDS ARE 45' HEAD AND 15 GPM. FLANGE TO FLANGE NEEDS TO BE 6.5" AS STANDARD. I'VE TRIED TACO 2400-50 BUT THEY WONT WORK FOR ME. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

What didn't work with the Taco 2400-50. The flange set is what you needed and the flow/GPM match?

B&G PL-55

TYhe B&G PL-55 will get you close.  It will produve about 42' at 15gpm.

I forget the name of the manufacturer. At any rpm the flow is constant regardless of the head.

we ried them but too noisy. Had the rep there and he agreed plus he said these pumps dont like additives like anti freeze. We're going to use the B/G PL55's

Gregg, were the PD pumps you tried Proconn? Shouldn't be noisy and you can always throw a towel on it .

I checked Proconn website and it looks like they're not pushing the product for HVAC circulators anymore.



Who uses a temporary adjustable speed pump, flowmeter & pressure gage to determine the head curve of the system before selecting a circulator? Instead everybody selects by over estimating the head. So a PD pump seems like a sure way to get the correct flow rate.

Did you figure the weight of the anti freeze in your head equasion.

I bet that you didn't since the TACO didn't work.
