In Dan's book, he says that if there is asbestos insulation on the steam pipes and it is in pretty good shape, just cover it with plastic and it should be OK. Question, cover it with what kind of plastic? First, wrap it in some kind of plastic and tape the plastic or use some kind of plastic tape or ??????
Thanks,

Coverup
Why not use latex paint on it, assuming it's in good shape. That should do a reasonable job of sealing it.
