Candling a boiler

We put some refractory mortar into some brick joints inside the fire chamber a couple of days ago. How soon can you put the boiler into normal use after the candling process?
Thank you for any replies.

The next day
should be fine.0 -
Thank you for your advice
We were told to run the boiler for 3 minutes on and 3 minutes off for 15 minutes. Is there any benefit of doing the process over or is that overdoing it?0 -
If you are using refractory
cement it will dry on its own better if just left for a few hours then fire the boiler for a few minutes on and off. If you mix refractory cement with a 50% mix of furnace cement it will last longer and dry faster. I usually leave the boiler running when I leave having done the cementing the same day.0 -
This is very helpful...
Thank you again for making the time to answer our questions. We did just use refractory cement. Not sure what the difference in furnace and refractory cement. But next time we'll try mixing them as you recommend.0
